Gensan Division salvos Brigada Eskwela at San Jose

What make the Filipinos distinct from the rest of the world?

Many.

Yet, if there is one distinct quality the Filipinos can be proudest of in the eyes of the global community it is the manifestation of unguarded heroism in moments when this qualitiy is needed most.

The Department of Education has been blessed by this quality. We call it bayanihan, from the root word bayani (hero) and a suffix han (an act or being one).

Bayanihan has translated the entire Department of Education into a close-knit community where everyone does his share to make quality education a reality.

The Department of Education has brought the spirit of bayanihan to a higher level by implementing Brigada Eskwela where parents, teachers, students, community, and other stakeholders actively engage in making the schools ready for the opening of the classes comes June 13, 2016.

Deped Gensan kicked off this year’s Brigada Eskwela at Datu B. Balunto National High School situated in a far flung Barangay San Jose  on May 30.

“ I am very excited upon knowing that your school is chosen to be the venue where we kick off this year’s Collaborative Brigada Eskwela,” said Mario M. Bermudez, CESE, to the parents, teachers, and stakeholders of DBBNHS during the program which was also attended by barangay officials of San Jose

Bermudez, ASDS, told the community that the school is a recipient of new computer unit, P20, 000 cash, gallons of paints, sack of cements, and other materials needed by the school during the said brigada.

On the other hand, SDS Gildo G. Mosqueda, CEO VI, challenged the school personnel and stakeholders to sustain the spirit of bayanihan in the school.

After the program, the group– composed of barangay officials, parents, students, teachers, education and district supervisors, nurses, and other division personnel—like a synchronized sytem, proceeded to the tasks of painting the walls, cleaning the classrooms, cutting weeds, and other activities.

This year’s  Brigada Eskwela theme is: “Tayo Para Sa Paaralang Ligtas, Maayos at Handa Mula Kindergarten Hanggang Senior High School.”
