Stakeholders’ Forum: Gathering of Hearts for Education

As time gets closer towards the implementation of the Senior High School in 2016, emerging needs start to pop up and such needs require an immediate solution.  The government, through the Department of Education, has been very active in meeting all the demands and very consistent in its goal towards achieving the plan that has been long overdue.  Series of trainings to capacitate and guide teachers in transforming themselves into a 21st century teachers have been showing a huge positive result towards achieving the changes in our educational system.

Along this program, various K to 12 campaign and advocacy efforts have been done in order to make everyone understand, support and, eventually, embrace the new system in our education.

So far, we have received different kinds of support coming from the different groups and individuals. Fortunately, we have so many Stakeholders in the City waiting to be tapped and be asked to take part in the Adopt-a-School Program.  Through this activity new partners will be informed about the problems and pressing needs that our schools are facing today and cause them to see these as their own.

Establishing good relationship with them is one way of encouraging them to invest for the future our children.  On the other hand, active partners need to be updated about the program and as we work together in addressing prevailing problems and issues faced by each party, a stronger and smooth partnership will be attained.

Primarily, the stakeholders` forum intends to shed light to all partners regarding the Senior High School implementation and clear out things regarding the Adopt-a-School Program. Also, partners in attendance (165 stakeholders) interacted with our school heads to get to know them personally and find opportunity to know which school needs they can possibly be taking part. It was, indeed, a happy meeting between our stakeholders in the city and our 26 school heads and senior high school coordinators. In the end, all project proposals prepared by each school, based on the pressing needs identified, were all considered by the stakeholders during the gathering.
