The General Santos City Mobile Force Company (CMFC) is helping young people understand the dangers of drug abuse through the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) program at Lanton Elementary School.

DARE Officers Ruby Quirante and Michaella Fuego are leading sessions for Grade Six students, with support from PSDS Angelito C. Llanos and School Principal Ricky B. Niño.

“We learned to be self-reliant and confident without using harmful substances like drugs,” said Jaira Mae U. Banga, a SELG officer. DARE teaches children how to refuse drugs and helps them build social skills and self-esteem. The Grade Six students will complete ten sessions to finish the program.
